The institution began its journey in June 1985, established by the AJC Society with just 45 students and 8 dedicated teachers, offering classes from LKG to VI Standard. Since its inception, the school has grown remarkably while staying true to its core values of excellence, integrity, and service.
AJC English School is managed and operated by the AJC Society, with leadership carefully chosen by the founder himself. The school is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, ensuring a standardized and quality education for all its students.

I believe that education is the cornerstone of a nation’s progress, and schools play a crucial role in shaping responsible, knowledgeable and ethical individuals.
With a vision to provide quality education rooted in strong values, I established AJC English School, Kumbakonam, through the AJC Society in 1985 with a commitment to making quality education accessible to all sections of society.
At that time, there were limited educational institutions to meet the growing demand. Recognizing this need, AJC English School was founded with the mission of elevating educational standards and ensuring that every student receives holistic development— academically, morally and spiritually.
Over the years, this vision has expanded, leading to the establishment of other AJC Schools in and around Kumbakonam. Each institution carries forward the same commitment—to provide excellence in education while nurturing character and integrity in every student. As the scripture says,
“He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8).
